Avoiding Untrustworthy Employers and Job Scams

Nowadays, people around the world are very eager to look for a living, yet this is also a chance for those evil ones to take advantage of gullible people to steal money by means of job scams. Example of which are pyramid schemes that cheats unaware people out of their money. Another act is illegal recruitment where recruiters ask for placement fees and the victims will pay everything just to ensure a productive job but as time goes by, they will soon find out that their money were gone to waste.

How can you protect yourself against such scam acts that disguises themselves as a glossy job advertisement?

It is a matter of self-awareness and practicing crucial judgment when we encounter job advertisements that are classified into two types; the first one is a job advertisement that requires you to pay a very large amount of money or placement fees that will process your application for that job; lastly, job advertisements that promotes pyramiding selling or other related acts.

Things to remember:

·       Do your own research regarding certain job advertisements. This would be the first and best thing to do before applying for that advertisement. Do some background checking about the company that offers that job.

·       - A real job advertisement never requires their applicants to pay a large amount of placement fees or other fees for processing of application.

·       It will never ask you to buy or sell items that require you to get that job
.

·       -  Know exactly what services are being offered. Be wary of inconsistent job offers.

·      -  Try to keep records or at least document all the things your recruiter told you. This way, you will keep all what has been told and for proving all the promises your recruiter stated.
